This original telling of the classic fairytale brings to life the characters of the natural world through shadow puppetry, film and live performance. Presented as part of SBCT's Spring Break Camp.
This original telling of the classic fairytale brings to life the characters of the natural world. The Queen of the flowers brings together all her garden creatures one Spring night to hold a trial to decide which creatures will be allowed to gather nectar and which will not be welcome in the garden. Through shadow puppetry, film and live performance, this story comes to life, showing us the importance of environmental care and our connections to the world around us.
The April 6 performances are free and open to the public and are presented as part of South Bend Civic Theatre's Spring Break Camp for grades 3-12. The Spring Break production camp is a full day, one-week camp (April 1-6) which culminates in a fully produced performance. This camp will give students who are interested in theatre, design, art, and engineering the experience of building and producing a show in a short timeframe. The camp is perfect for students that like being on stage as well as those that want to work behind the scenes. They will get an intensive, hands-on design and performance experience where they will join live theatre, shadow puppetry and film to create an original theatre piece and make great friends while doing so.
