A nostalgic night of books, drinks, retro games, and music with DJ Big Perm. Ticketed event; 21+.
Step into the Main Library’s Ballroom and find yourself back in the 80s and 90s. Catch DJ Big Perm spinning fly tunes from 7-9, while you work your way through our selection of books for all ages. It’s a grown-up night to celebrate literacy. (Don’t worry, you can come back on Saturday and bring the kids.)
Whether you’re looking for the latest edition of Dog Man or kitten posters, or perhaps something for an older reader from Brain Lair Books, the vibes will be all that.
Our Rare Edition VIP ticket gets you in early with a few extra perks, and the Paperback General Admission ticket lets you join the party at 6:30.
Friday night only: Drinks and school lunch food with a "glow-up" will be available for sale while you shop, dance to retro music and play retro board AND video games. Themed attire encouraged - there will be a photo booth!
Proceeds from the event go toward purchasing SJCPL's Summer Reading Club reward books...you can even purchase books and donate them directly to the program!
Note: Friday is 21+ only (ID required); bring the family back on Saturday for free book fair fun, facepainting and more from 11-1 (no food or drink or DJ on Saturday - the library is open!).
