Led by Electrical Engineering Department Assistant Professor Ningyuan Cao, University of Notre Dame.
This program is designed for kids ages 7-12 who are curious about artificial intelligence. Based on the speaker's book If AI Had Life, the session uses a sci-fi story to introduce AI in a fun and easy-to-understand way. Kids will learn a simple history of AI, how AI is used in everyday life, and how they can think about learning and living with AI today.
After the storytelling session, kids will take part in a hands-on mini lab using kits provided by Professor Cao. They will assemble a simple pitch detector, where the correct pitch will trigger an LED light. The program ends with a short Q&A and book giveaway to encourage participation and discussion.
