Auditorium Lobby, Leighton Auditorium

Join Director Sybil Drew for an inside look and film screening of her documentary in the library’s brand new Auditorium! A second film will also be featured with a Q&A session to follow.

"Prime Farmland" (40 min) - Directed by Sybil Drew

“This documentary film follows farmers and activists fighting together to stop the Indiana Enterprise Center, a mega-sized industrial park planned west of South Bend, Indiana. Filmed on location in South Bend, Indiana & New Carlisle, Indiana.”

"Kiss the Ground" (45 min)

"Released in September of 2020 on Netflix, Kiss the Ground the movie narrated by Woody Harrelson is a full-length documentary shedding light on a “new, old approach” to farming called regenerative agriculture, a practice with the extraordinary ability to balance our climate and feed the world."

The auditorium has a 250 seat capacity. Seating is on a first-come, first serve basis. Doors will open at 6:45 PM for the Friday showing and 1:45 for the Saturday showing. For the Friday showing, you will need to enter and exit the east Auditorium entrance off of S. Michigan St. (map) due to the rest of the building being closed.
