Join us for a unique musical performance for both the eyes and the ears as IU South Bend's Audio Visual Collective performs a selection of live audio visual ensemble works.
The AVC at IU South Bend performs, composes, and investigates live audio-visual ensemble works through the use of modern performance technology, which has so far included digital, analog, and traditional instrumentation as well as the implementation of coding, patching, live video processing, and animation. The ensemble defines Live Audio Visual Ensembles as those that perform works involving performative media (Live), at least two media (Audio & Visual), and at least two performers (Ensemble). This performance will present a few works the ensemble has been studying recently and an invitation for members of the audience to try some of the performance technology themselves. Now in its sixth year, the ensemble has performed over 30 contemporary media works performing annually at the Performing Media Festival and having presented concerts at Ball State’s Electronic Music Ensemble Summit, Midwest Media Arts Langlab Showcase, and the South Bend Museum of Art.
