American cartoonist, Alison Bechdel, chronicles her bizarre life in the Tony Award-winning tragicomedy, "Fun Home." This preview show is free to the public!

Alison had an unusual childhood, although, it wouldn’t be until later in life that she would come to appreciate exactly how unusual her childhood really was. As she prepares to chronicle her graphic memoir, American cartoonist Alison Bechdel reflects on the peculiarity of growing up in the funeral home of a small Pennsylvania town, the comprehension of her own sexuality, and the omnipotence of her late father’s secret life. Fun Home is a tragicomedy with love and brutal honesty.

Nominated for twelve Tony Awards, winning five, including Best Musical, Fun Home makes its Regional Premier to Michiana, May 13 - 29, at the Leighton Auditorium. Tickets and more information can be found at Art 4 (https://art4sb.org). The Preview Show will run 1 hour and 30 minutes with no intermission and will be followed by a "talk back" with the cast to learn how they prepared for their roles and what's its like to be an actor.
