Free tax assistance for low and middle income individuals provided by students from the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College.
Registration required. Limited spots available. If filing jointly, you only need to register for one slot.

Online registration for the ND/SMC Tax Assistance at the Main Library opens two weeks prior to each date. Registration for the first date opens February 1, 2024. Registration is highly recommended and preferred. Register online or by calling 574-282-4646. Services will be provided to walk-ins as time permits.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be US citizen or permanent resident
Families earning up to $64,000, single individuals up to $32,000
We will prepare federal and Indiana returns only
Both taxpayers must be present if filing a joint tax return
Will Not Prepare:
Form 1040-NR
State tax returns other than Indiana
Taxpayers who are in bankruptcy
Schedule C with loss, depreciation or business use of home
Complicated Schedule D (capital gains and losse)
Schedule E with rental income
Form SS-5 (request for Social Security number)
Form 8606 (non-deductible IRA)
Form 8814 (child taxed at parent's tax rate)
Form SS-8 (determination of worker status for purposes of federal employment taxes and income tax withholding
Parts 4 & 5 of Form 8962 (Premium Tax Credit)
