Once you've mastered the basics, take your family history research to the next level with this program. Learn about strategies and record types to that will improve your research.
If you've started your genealogy research and are looking to expand or improve your knowledge, this half-day session is for you. In the first part of the program, we'll cover strategies focused on improving your research. Topics include cleaning up your digital tree, staying organized, research quality, citing sources, and getting help. In the second part, we'll take a look at specific types of sources and how to track them down, including county history books, city directories, non-population census schedules, and military records. There will be plenty of time for questions after each part of the program and a break in between.
This session is aimed at people who have been working on genealogy for a while at a novice level or have attended a Beginning Genealogy Workshop program in the past. You'll benefit most from this session if you have at least a little experience using: a digital family tree, databases like Ancestry or FamilySearch, and basic records like birth/marriage/death records, censuses, headstones, and/or obituaries.
