Orange's novel offers a kaleidoscopic look at Native American life and the complex history of Native Americans in Oakland, California by following 12 characters, each of whom has private reasons for traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow. Perfect for readers of character-driven fiction with a strong sense of place.

Offered in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Arts' (NEA) Big Read and the South Bend Museum of Art.
