Join us for a reception to celebrate the Divine Nine smART box exhibit!
St. Joseph County Public Library to Honor the Divine Nine During Black History Month
The St. Joseph County Public Library will honor the nine historically African American
Greek-letter organizations of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), collectively
known as the Divine Nine, with a special Black History Month exhibition in the Library’s
smART box room.
We welcome community members, students, families, and civic leaders to
experience the display and learn more about the historical significance of the Divine
Nine. Light refreshments will be available.
This curated display will highlight the rich legacy, history, and impact of each Divine
Nine organization through meaningful artifacts, historical memorabilia, photographs,
apparel, and visual storytelling. The exhibition celebrates the organizations’
longstanding commitment to service, scholarship, leadership, and community uplift.
This collaborative exhibit reflects the enduring influence of the Divine NPHC locally and
nationally, and their collective role in advancing social justice, education, and civic
engagement for over a century.
The exhibition will be on display throughout Black History Month and is free and open to
the public.
