Does your child love to draw? Celebrate Black History Month by joining Ripples In The Water to illustrate "The Little Girl in the Red Bathing Suit," a book about the life of Barbara V. Brandy.
Does your child love to draw? Is he or she curious about local history? Celebrate Black History Month by joining Ripples In The Water—The Barbara V. Brandy Foundation, St. Joe County Public Library, IUSB Civil Rights Heritage Center and Wolfson Press as they welcome children ages 7-10 to become illustrators for the Ripples In The Water Children’s Book Series. The first book, "The Little Girl in the Red Bathing Suit," is the story of Barbara V. Brandy.
Students will have the opportunity to draw their rendition of preselected images from Barbara’s childhood to be published in book series (1) one and be credited as a published illustrator. We hope you will join us to share your creative talent to help us tell the visual side of this story! All drawing materials needed to participate will be provided.
All artists will be invited to participate in the selection event and their artwork will be displayed at a future gallery showing (TBD). For more information, go to RipplesInTheWater.org. Contact Kenneth L. Brandy at RipplesInTheWaterFoundations@gmail.com with any questions.
